Blondie originally joined the Many Feathers family on 10/07/07, thanks to my friends, Irish & Z who first saw her, her beautiful red sister, & yellow-orange dominant brother, at the Parrot Perch in Vancouver, WA, while shopping there the day before. Irish e-mailed pix they took of the macaws, as soon as they came home, because she knew that I would want her. While online looking at the pix, I got on the phone with the Parrot Perch and let them know that we wanted both of the orange & yellow siblings & would be in first thing the following day. It was love at first sight. I took the sister, and Irish & Z took the brother. Blondie got her name that evening. Bowie was named right after. And as history would have it, we aquired 2 Most Brilliant Stars! ... More to follow later after they complete their baby molt ... A note: I do not clip my birds' wings. Blondie's wings were clipped when I got her. A few of her flights are coming in now, but it will be a few more months before they are completely in and she can finally fly. |
